AKSON STUDIO

Established in 1992, Akson Studio is one of the leading production companies in Poland. It has been cooperating with outstanding filmmakers like Andrzej Wajda, Roman Polanski, Márta Mészáros, Jerzy Skolimowski and many others. During the past 20 years, Akson Studio has successfully produced and co-produced more than 40 TV series and 35 feature films, including the Academy Award-nominated KATYN (2008) as well as SWEET RUSH, winner of the Silver Bear at Berlinale 2009. Akson Studio has also produced two of the biggest recent Polish movies, WARSAW 44 by Jan Komasa (Busan IFF 2015) and Andrzej Wajda’s highly acclaimed WALESA: MAN OF HOPE (Venice FF 2013). Further productions include the portmanteau film NEW WORLD (Montreal FF 2015), Wajda’s AFTERIMAGE (Toronto IFF 2016) and PANIC ATTACK by Pawel Maslona (Karlovy Vary FF 2018).

Producer, director and the founder of AKSON STUDIO. Graduate of the National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Warsaw. One of the most recognized and experienced producers in Poland, focused on the promotion of Polish cinema abroad.

JAN KWIECIŃSKI

Producer. Graduated from London Film School with an MA in Filmmaking. Selected for the Sundance Directors & Screenwriters Lab, Berlinale Talents & EAVE Producers Workshop, he is now focusing on working with young talents and co-productions.
